Question 1

What is bzz?

Accepted Answer

An AI you email like a person (say "buzz"), and it talks with everyone. Write what you need or what you have, in your own words and any language. bzz answers within a minute, looks for the match among its members and on the web, and introduces you only when you both say yes.

Question 2

Is bzz a person?

Accepted Answer

No. bzz is an AI, and it says so if you ask. You can still write to it like you would to a person. The people it connects you with are real, and you only meet when you both say yes.

Question 3

How do I start?

Accepted Answer

Send an email to ask@bzz.today with what you need, in one line. No account, no app, no form.

Question 4

What is an anonymous poll?

Accepted Answer

Email one question to survey@bzz.today, with the group and the city, like "What commission does your delivery app take? Restaurants in New York". You get a page back. Everyone who answers emails just one number and instantly sees where they stand. Numbers only show from 5 answers, never per person or business, and everyone who took part hears when more come in.

Question 5

Can bzz find clients or investors for me?

Accepted Answer

Email your CV, portfolio or site to potentie@bzz.today with who you're after. You get candidates right away, each with why they match and the email they would get. Pick the numbers and bzz emails them for you; replies come back to you.

Question 6

Can I talk about a topic with others?

Accepted Answer

Email the topic, video or article and say you want to discuss it, or ask "who else is thinking about ...". bzz shows who in the network is into it too. Everyone who says yes joins one conversation through bzz: you get one bundle with the new contributions (time and context, never names or addresses) and a one-line summary, and you join in by replying. Spam and scams are filtered out before anything reaches the group.

Question 7

How do I change my profile?

Accepted Answer

Open the link in any email from bzz (only you see that page) and click × next to anything you don't want known; it stays gone. To change or add something, just reply to your profile email or email profiel@bzz.today.

Question 8

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The instant answer is always free, and your first requests to people are free too.

Question 9

Who sees my email address?

Accepted Answer

Nobody, until you both say yes. Replies reach you without addresses, and an introduction only happens after two yeses.

Question 10

Does bzz learn?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from every reply. It measures which explanations, tips and questions lead to a real request or a useful answer, and uses those more often. The homepage headline and the questions it asks you are chosen the same way.

Question 11

Can bzz tell me when something I wait for comes in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Email follow@bzz.today what you are waiting for, in a few words: "catering clients in Willemstad", "a used van", "news about heat pumps". Every new request or offer that fits, bzz brings to you: at most one email per half day, only when there is really something. Reply with a number to react. You can wait for a topic, trade, product, company or place, never for a private person. Reply "unfollow 2" to stop one.

Question 12

Can bzz deliver a message to a company for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Email "send this to KLM: ..." to ask@bzz.today, or email klm.com@bzz.today directly. bzz finds the right address for your kind of message, only one that is published on the company's own site, delivers your message with your name but without your email address, and tells you where it went. Their reply comes straight to you, and if they stay silent for 3 days you hear that too. Never to private persons, never spam.

Question 13

What if many people have the same problem with a company?

Accepted Answer

Then it counts together. Every message bzz delivers says how many people reported the same problem and how many follow it. At 5, 25, 100 and 500 reports the company gets one anonymous bundle, and their answer goes to everyone who reported or follows it. Same problem? Reply to count, without sending anything yourself. Nothing is published: it all stays in email.

Question 14

What is the New York Buzz or the Rotterdam Buzz?

Accepted Answer

A free email every morning at 7 with local news, sent in by people from that city. Email "follow" to newyork@bzz.today or rotterdam@bzz.today to get it. Got news yourself? Just email it there: it runs with your name and your own bzz address, or without your name if you prefer. Never accusations about named people. Questions or ideas? Email Henkjan, who runs bzz: henq@bzz.today.

Question 15

What is a bzz?

Accepted Answer

A page you get back when you email something worth sharing: an offer, a call-out, a job, an announcement, something to give away. Forward the link or post it anywhere. People reply with one button that opens an email; bzz brings it to you, and nobody sees anyone's address. Personal or sensitive things never get a page: what belongs inside stays inside.

Question 16

Can I get my own address?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Everyone who emails bzz gets the same name as their own email address: jan.smit@gmail.com becomes jan.smit@bzz.today, info@yourcompany.com becomes yourcompany@bzz.today. Email "my address" and it switches on, with a page and a QR code that opens an email right away. Put it in your bio or on a poster: bzz is your receptionist, real mail comes through, ads and spam never arrive. Anything after a + is its own entrance (jan.smit+poster@), so you see which one brings mail.

Question 17

Does bzz check back after my request?

Accepted Answer

Once, a week later, if no introduction happened yet: did you find what you needed? 1 yes, 2 partly, 3 no. On yes, the people who answered hear that it helped. On partly or no, bzz keeps looking with what was missing. That is also how bzz learns which way leads to a real match, so your next request goes faster.

Question 18

Why does bzz ask me one question a day?

Accepted Answer

Because a better profile means better matches. Every day bzz picks the one question that would improve your matches most: sometimes your CV, sometimes "what exactly do you offer? 1, 2 or 3", sometimes a price range, sometimes "15 people are looking for X, do you do that? YES/NO". You can usually answer with one number or word. bzz learns which kind of question most often leads to an answer that really adds to your profile, and asks that kind more often. No answer? Then it waits longer each time and stops after four. Reply STOP to stop at once.

Question 19

Can I see what bzz knows about me?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every email to you contains a personal link to your profile: what bzz keeps about you, and how many others in the network look for or offer the same thing. You only see numbers, never who.

Question 20

Can I add my CV or a link?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reply with your CV as an attachment or a link to your own site or portfolio, and bzz fills in what you offer and know. LinkedIn pages cannot be read; send your LinkedIn profile as a PDF instead.

Question 21

Does my request go online?

Accepted Answer

A normal business or practical request can appear on a public page without your name, company, email or phone number, so people outside the network can reply too. You are told in your first answer, it goes online an hour later, and one reply PRIVATE keeps it off. Personal or sensitive requests, and anything about a person, never go online.

Question 22

What does "Me too" mean on a request page?

Accepted Answer

That you need the same thing. You count as one more person with this need, and you get your own answer within a minute.

Question 23

How do I reply to someone else's request?

Accepted Answer

Press "Reply by email" on the request page. Your email opens with the request already in it. The asker sees your reply without your address and chooses; contact only happens when you both say yes.

Question 24

Can my request reach people I already know?

Accepted Answer

Not if you don't want it to. bzz always skips colleagues on your own company domain, people you ever put in CC and people you already met through bzz. Reply "never 2" on a proposal, or email "never @company.com" or "never Jane Doe", and they never get your requests. You can also send your contact list as an attachment with "never": bzz keeps only unreadable codes of those addresses, and none of them will ever get your requests.

Question 25

How do I know someone is reliable?

Accepted Answer

Every reply and proposal shows hard facts: a verified email domain, their own site, how many introductions they had and whether there were complaints. A few days after each introduction both sides get one question: good, okay or bad. bzz also weighs in itself, on the facts: someone can be angry without being right, so a complaint without facts counts less, and someone who rates almost everything badly counts half. Someone rated badly with good reason drops out and gets no more requests; someone rated good again and again hears about everything that fits.

Question 26

How do I stop or delete my data?

Accepted Answer

Reply UNSUBSCRIBE to stop all unrequested email. Reply "my data" to see everything bzz keeps, "delete 2, 5" to remove parts, or "delete everything" to erase it all.

Question 27

Which languages does it speak?

Accepted Answer

Any language. Write in your own; bzz answers in it.

Question 28

What about spam?

Accepted Answer

Nothing reaches anyone without their yes. Senders get a warning, then a 48-hour pause, then they are out. There are daily limits and an emergency stop.

Question 29

Who is behind bzz?

Accepted Answer

Henkjan de Krijger, with AdsFair B.V. in Gouda, the Netherlands (KvK 60126035).

Question 30

I got an email from bzz and I don't recognize it. What is this, and can I make it stop?

Accepted Answer

bzz is an AI that people email with what they need or offer. It looks for matches among its members and on the web. Nobody sees your address, and contact only happens when you both say yes. Reply STOP to stop all unrequested email, or "my data" to see what it keeps.
